I thought Chris might have had a third card and the one burnt was a decoy but I guess not.

It was interesting to see a security guard who did not get all flustered or excited about a girl giving him attention like that, he was trying to get back to work lol.

‎‎‎ • 1 year ago

i think he has the real card or something like that because at last conversation he was not at all worried and laughing. Though its only my guess.

Reemus • 1 year ago

Or maybe he has a consistently dumb personality and is not affected by this total blunder. Both are possible, but I think if he had the card he would have given it to his boss.

Patrick Johnson • 1 year ago

The way he was acting in this episode seemed suspicious to me. Idk why but he probably took it for himself. My theory is that the number 5 card makes you invisible, judging by the foot prints on the card.

Deus The Great • 1 year ago

He definitely had a third card unless the author f*cked up his own story. You can definitely see Chris indeed opened up that security box before it was closed again after. The card in the box must be a fake, the burned 2nd card also was a fake with how easily it was burned. It also can be that he team up with the 3rd party and decided not to switched the card while playing dumb. Or he's just with a 4th unknown party or dude is just a joker or just a mysterious box circumstance that we were not aware of. The worst of all would be just a poor written but i hope not.

Just think at a bright side he might already married or had a girlfriend already. Tomorrow is a Valentine's Day. F*ck Valentine's Day. Happy Valentine's Day. Looks like i'll buy a rose for myself lol.

Judgment526 • 1 year ago

Norman is so cringe. And that godawful fashion sense...

Deus The Great • 1 year ago

But you gotta like that fact that he didn't takeaway his employee's rights for vacation and on the parent's day on top of that lmao.

KingArcher • 1 year ago

And to be fair, all he was doing was preventing the card from being stolen (which is illegal). So technically, he is the good guy

Deus The Great • 1 year ago

I'm not really gonna call him a good guy just from the information we got in this episode, but at the very least i probably want to work for this guy.

FlamingFox • 1 year ago

I think its the perfect amount of cringe. Just enough for you to hate his personality without it killing the show.

Me12222 • 1 year ago

i thought he was funny

Lucy Heartfilia • 1 year ago

Not me waiting the entire episode for Chris to say "Sike, I have the real card!"

Etrancical • 1 year ago

ok, but king is unironically very respectable in my eyes. He gives his employees paid vacations, respects their free time, and never once insults their ability? Not only that, but he wasn't even trying to steal the card. He wanted to bid on it fair and square

In my eyes, that's all it takes to be great

Klondikes played them like a damn fiddle. Who needs money when you can just let them fight themselves and swoop in at the last moment.

RIP Finn. Bad map.

Nona • 1 year ago

Well few hints where laid out so. Well we can just say there's a traitor

Kaladin Stormblessed • 1 year ago

Yo its black Lightning....

Steel • 1 year ago

I was saying the same thing during the episode.

Jadiac5 • 1 year ago

Pretty sure Chris had the real card hidden somewhere for himself. Since we don't know what power it has I guess it'll come into the story later

Deus The Great • 1 year ago

I wouldn't be surprise if he happens to be a joker with how playful he is and how the power system works in this anime.

Uncle Karma • 1 year ago

"Blist Blitz Broadhurst" and "Brandy Blumenthal". oh I love it when the Japanese make American names. Its so beautiful

You know I think King is one of those characters I am going to grow to love.
MAY HIS VICTORY BE ASSURED

DesuYoda • 1 year ago

OP: "goosepimps..." I don't think that word means what you think it means.
Someone might be called on to "pimp out" their geese, I guess, if the geese had a job only they could do...🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️
Weird episode...

Oisif • 1 year ago

Damn if it wasn't for that card I thought for sure this was a filler episode
Telekinesis mommy is still hot tho

Nymphaea • 1 year ago

Okay, knock off Static Shock

Hmmm idk Chris kinda sus with how unconcerned he is about how everything went down... He did also say that their

Poor Finn was just trying to do his best lol, hopefully Leo isn't too harsh on him for the, uh, gift he left in his lap 😂

Nona • 1 year ago

Oh you didn't notice? Previous episode same voice of chris can be heard when he brought a traitor

SenicAsianRoute • 1 year ago

He did nothing wrong how the hell where they gonna do anything with the Helicopter xd Finn could have without it did some slick gun shot to get the guys leg or something

the Finance Guy • 1 year ago

An Ocean's 11 in the ocean. Cleaver. But Wendy look so hot all glammed up. Too bad we didn't get to see Love-P in this episode ☹.

Shadow Bison • 1 year ago

0:20 Sounds like a crossover from Vineland Saga.
1:34 Talk about OP AF.
19:41 Those Klondikes are showing everyone, they are the ones to beat.

I'm glad they didn't do a twist that the Pinochle team did get the card, it would have undermined that great Klondike spoiler as they literally swooped in and stole the card.

Just goes to shoe that the Klondike Mafia is ruthless in their goals and the inevitable showdown with them will be a great end towards the season, I hope.

Souma's Headband • 1 year ago

oh ho telekinesis mommy?

bari • 10 months ago

all that effort, just to be stolen

Kind of hoped that Finn changed the card while chasing it, but with ending like this it just means this whole episode was pointless.

"i'm feeling goooooseee bimps"

Düölingöhhh Snorlax • 1 year ago

Huh??? So he didn’t have time to switch it out? :o
Also is King going to appear again? :/ He seems like a 1-ep character randomly inserted in :/

Maria • 1 year ago

We clearly saw Chris open the glass safe around the card...

It's confusing that he was holding the fake card however, since one would expect he had already done the switch if the cover was down...

I wander if maybe the cards are immune to each other's abilities? Like if you can't burn it with the lightning of the player, maybe you can't call a card to you with telekinesis? That would mean that Chris had two fakes...

Where did he get the second fake from then?

This was a good episode

Dropping this, gotten so boring now. Is it so hard to consistently make good anime these days.

BlackReaper23 • 1 year ago

i've been saying the story is going downhill after the 1st episode, tho im watching it now just to pass the time... yet another one in the collection of mediocre anime with potential sadly

SenicAsianRoute • 1 year ago

what the hell is making go so downhill theirs nothing wrong here its like other shows doing the same concept of clever suspenseful heist

BlackReaper23 • 1 year ago

it started off good and thought it was gonna be a seriously toned detective/criminal anime but literally all the characters and the story feel forced... if u wanna watch a good suspenseful anime watch Yuukoku no Moriarty instead

SenicAsianRoute • 1 year ago

Again your your just pissed its not that kinda show its the the super high energy type or the MC murdered whole families type of mood XD

Reemus • 1 year ago

Truly, the first episode is incomparable to the rest of the series, low-effort episodes that have 5 minute content but drag it out. With terrible execution.

That said, I will have some faith in this. I "dropped" Hikari no Ou halfway through the second episode, because the series arbitrarily made everyone hate the main character just to conveniently move the plot where the author wanted. He saw no other option than draft a terrible, off-putting and illogical scene just for the sake of directing the plot, and I cannot support that.

Here, though, just like in Boruto, there are highlights and there is the rest of the series. I will cautiously watching High Card by tapping the right arrow every few second, while I wait for the other episode where the rest of the budget went.

SenicAsianRoute • 1 year ago

how is it dragged out horribly have you seen these types of shows before detailed long heist are normal
